1. What ages are accepted for treatment at NPH?

NPH accepts patients that are 18 years of age and older for treatment.

2. What should I pack for treatment at an NPH hospital?

Casual clothing is all you will need. Our hospital provides toiletries, such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, conditioner and a razor, if needed. Please bring only 2-3 changes of clothing as we provide laundry services. Additional clothing or accessories should not be brought into the hospital.

3. What items are not allowed by patients or visitors?

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Alcohol-based products (mouthwash, perfume, aftershave/cologne)
  • No tobacco products or medications, including OTC
  • Flammable substances (lighter fluid, lighters, matches, paint thinner, flints)
  • Unidentified substances (vials, powders, pills, liquids)
  • Sharp objects (scissors, nail clippers, knives, needles/pins, razor blades, awl, ice picks, exacto-blade, hat pins, pencils/pens, make-up sharpeners)
  • Metal cans or lids
  • Personal defense chemicals
  • Illegal substances (street and/or prescription drugs)
  • Electronics of any kind (cell phones, tablets)
  • Glass items
  • Snacks or food
  • Jewelry (chains, necklaces, large rings, large buckles)
  • Weapons

4. What insurances do you accept?

Currently NPH accepts most major commercial insurances, Medicare and Medicaid.

5. Can anyone make a referral to your hospital?

At NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals we make the referral process as streamlined and easy as possible. We realize that mental health crises can happen at any time, day or night. We accept referrals from loved ones, concerned neighbors, churches, community mental health centers, physician offices, group homes, skilled nursing facilities, judges, jails, probation offices and individuals themselves. Our caring, compassionate and highly skilled clinical intake team is waiting to speak with you 24/7.

6. You currently don’t have a hospital in my state, can I still make a referral?

Yes! As one of the leading NeuroPsychiatric Hospital Systems in the country, we’re receiving referral calls from up to 1,500 miles away, and even further! Let us help you in your search for available treatment options.

7. How do I obtain my medical records?

To request a copy of medical records, please complete the Patient Authorization for Disclosure of Health Information form from the appropriate facility. You may either return the completed form in person to the appropriate hospital or fax it directly to the Health Information Management Department.
